I love being a Realtor. I am, indeed a Happy Realtor. One of the reasons I love it so much is being able to help young families buy their first place. Helping Gabe and Tina has been a pure pleasure. They are a super cool and sharp young couple with a lot on their plates and a bright future. Tina is a first year teacher and Gabe is a new business owner. He is the co-owner of a company that does mass mailings and signs. He is extremely involved in local and regional political campaigns and loves what he does. He is passionate and works hard. They are such a good pair and complement each other really well.

Their new house to be is a 2214 sq ft 2 story on an established neighborhood. It has great bones and has a balcony on the front and the back of the house and will be great for evening relaxing with a glass of wine and good conversationabout their respective days. The property they chose will also give them an opportunity to put in some sweat equity to create more equity. They are excited and so am I.

When you do something that gives you the opportunity to help make others happy---that is so cool. To me--it's all about making my clients happy. I really like that.

Gratitude is powerful

Find something to thank your Mom for. Find something to thank someone for. No man is an island, we have an impact on -- and are impacted by others profoundly. Whether it's something BIG, something little. Life is so short and goes by so fast -- especially once you hit 40. (I hit 40-several years ago-- and it smacked me back pretty hard!) Anyway, that little word "thanks" is powerful. The whole world opens up when you focus beyond yourself--it is amazing.

It's more than a random act of kindness--it's a lovefest of good feelings, goosebumps and making the world a better place. The big "G" is for Gratitude.

The big "A" is for "Appreciation." Think about it, when something "appreciates" it means it becomes more valuable. Hmmmmm...food for thought...eh?

Amaryllis--a gift in the winter-- Enjoy the music and the flower

It is Spring in the midst of the cold winter (or as cold as it gets in TX) My lovely Amaryllis has bloomed. It was a Christmas gift from my Mother-in-Law.

She knows how much I LOVE this color (see pic below)

Your goal is to get others to visualize themselves in the space--make it their potential home, not yours. If you do not work to make this decision, there is a probability you will create a situation where it takes longer to sell your house. As hard as it is, the first step in getting your home ready to sell is to "de-personalize" it.

Baskets! Clear clutter off of kitchen and bathroom counters and work areas by putting items you use in small baskets and storing them in cabinets or display neatly as shown. In the Kitchen--Choose 2 items to leave out on Kitchen counters, the rest--store out of sight, so that potential buyers see your house and not your stuff.

It is time to buy......a Current Detector?!

You read it right. Time to buy a current detector. Do not even do a simple task like installing a GFCI or a dimmer unless you test AFTER you turn off what you think is the correct breaker.

I had quite a scare the other day when I came home and my husband told me what had happened as he tried to replace a GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter). He had the "shock" of his life. No -- I didn't tell him I am pregnant--he got a heck of a literal "shock." Scared me. He has promised to always check the circuit first before "going in" in the future.

Do yourself a favor--spend the 10 bucks to potentially save someone you love from unnecessary injury or accidental death by electrocution.
